In managing the Cassowary Coast Transfer stations, all MAMS Group staff are committed to promoting quality waste reduction through the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle initiative. The MAMS Group operate popular Buy Back Tip Shops at Tully and Innsifail Transfer stations.

Transfer stations provide the residential community with a location to recycle items which are no longer needed but are still usable by others including clothing, unbroken furniture and household goods, unbroken toys and sporting equipment.

Other items which can be diverted from landfill by recycling at any of the Casswoary Coast Transfer stations, include -

  • clean plastic beverage containers
  • paper and cardboard
  • metal and metal products
  • wet cell batteries
  • used motor oil
  • tyres

Material which can be processed into a usable form such as greenwaste which can be mulched (trees, shrubs, untreated timber without metal; and clean concrete which can be processed into gravel for road base).
