BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM POLICY MANUAL

 

Introduction and Purpose

MAMS Business Management System Policy Manual gives an overview of how the management system of MAMS Plant Hire P/L operates and how the Company manages the core and supportive functions of the business. The system defines MAMS Plant Hire P/L's approach to integrating quality, safety, environmental, risk, compliance and human resource management principles, concepts, practices and elements into the daily planning of activities within the organisation. The Policy Manual defines the Company's commitment to client service, professionalism, continuous improvement and achieving "best practice" in each functional area and critical activity of the business. This also relates to quality, safety, environmental and human resource management.

The Policy Manual fulfills the requirements of the Australian Standards AS/NZS ISO 9001: 2000 (Quality), AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental) and AS 4801-2001 (Safety) for a business to produce a Quality, Environment and Safety Manual.

MAMS Business Management Policy Manual gives the foundation from which the procedures and work instructions are developed. The supporting documents detail how specific activities are carried out. The manual gives an overview of how MAMS Plant Hire P/L manages quality, safety, environmental issues and other aspects of its operations.

The Policy Manual outlines the organisation's commitment to providing a consistent service that meets not only the client's requirements but also Community, Government and Industry requirements / standards. MAMS Plant Hire P/L's commitment is to provide a quality service using work methods and systems that ensures the health and safety of the workforce, visitors and public, and the protection of the environment.

The Policy Manual defines management's commitment to achieving a standard that more than meets their legislative obligations through implementing compliance and risk management systems that are integrated into the Business Management System.

QUALITY, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL, EQUITY, PRIVACY AND REHABILITATION MANAGEMENT POLICY

It is a fundamental requirement of MAMS Plant Hire P/L that our business and services be conducted safely and to an established quality standard without any harm to employees, subcontractors, visitors, general public, client and the environment.

The objectives of our organisation are to identify and control or eliminate all risks and incidents which have or could result in accidents, injuries, illnesses, poor quality, damage to plant / equipment / tools / environment, customer / public complaints and privacy breaches.

It is a prime responsibility of each person employed by or associated with our organisation to ensure that their jobs are performed safely without any injury or illness to themselves, other employees, or general public; the environment is protected from damage, erosion, contamination or pollution and their work is performed in a consistent manner and to the required standard of the organisation, client and legislation (all that impacts our business).

Each individual will be held accountable for planning their work, the quality of their work, maintaining a clean and controlled worksite, following work methods / practices and for achieving the above requirements.

The organisation will provide working conditions that encourage a high standard of compliance, quality, safety and environmental protection. This includes the provision of: -

  • Job plans and specifications.
  • Suitable, sufficient and well maintained plant, equipment, tools and other resources.
  • Defined work methods and procedures.
  • Training and development.
  • Information concerning hazards, risks, hazardous materials / substances, manual handling, environmental protection, compliance, privacy, harassment and equity.
  • Clear direction and instructions.
  • Formal emergency procedures and facilities to control emergencies and ensure equipment and facilities are effectively reinstated.
  • Multi-discipline injury and rehabilitation processes.
  • A formal human resource management system.

We are committed to customer confidence in our capabilities, a program of "continuous improvement" and achieving as a minimum standard, the requirements of the Australian Standards AS/NZS ISO 9001 (Quality), AS/NZS ISO 14001 (Environment) and AS/NZS 4801 (Occupational Health and Safety) and legislation impacting our business.

Personnel in charge of work places are accountable for ensuring the above requirements are achieved and maintained in a consistent manner.
